Family Member Visa for Peru

The Family Visa allows you to live in Peru legally if you have close family ties to a Peruvian citizen or a legal resident. It’s a common option for spouses, children, or parents who wish to reunite and live together in Peru.

This visa offers a clear path to long-term residency and is a great solution for families who want to build a life in Peru together.

Who can apply for a family member visa in Peru?

You may qualify for the Family Visa if:

  • You are married to a Peruvian citizen or resident

  • You are the parent of a Peruvian minor

  • You are a child or parent of a Peruvian or a legal resident

  • Your family member in Peru holds a valid Carné de Extranjería

You can apply for this visa while in Peru on a tourist visa — but you must start the process before it expires.

Requirements

To apply, you’ll need:

  • A marriage certificate (or birth certificate) issued within the last 6 months

  • The document must be apostilled or legalized in your home country

  • Police Clearance Certificate from your home country (also apostilled or legalized)

  • Official translations of all foreign documents into Spanish

  • Supporting declarations and legal letters (we’ll prepare these for you)

  • Proof of legal entry into Peru (entry stamp or TAM virtual)

All foreign documents must be recent and legally valid in Peru for only 6 months from issuance.

    5. Biometric appointment

The visa is temporary at first, but it can be converted to permanent residency after the required number of years (depending on your relationship type).
