Work Visa for Peru

If you want to live and work legally in Peru, you’ll need a Work Visa. While this visa is sometimes tied to an employment contract with a Peruvian company, many foreigners choose a more flexible option: founding their own company in Peru and applying for a visa as its CEO.

This pathway is especially useful for freelancers, consultants, or entrepreneurs who want to create their own legal structure in Peru and maintain full control over their activities.

Requirements

To qualify for the Work Visa as a company owner (CEO), you’ll need:

  • A registered Peruvian company (we help you create it)

  • A work contract between you and your company (duration: 1–3 years)

  • A Police Clearance Certificate from your home country

  • Proof of legal entry into Peru (entry stamp or TAM virtual)

  • A minimum stay of 183 days per year in Peru to maintain the visa

  • Annual renewal of the visa (based on proof of ongoing business activity)

All foreign documents must be apostilled or legalized and translated into Spanish by a certified translator.
